Generate a wa.me QR code for your number
A QR block with your wa.me link and a downloadable code. Put it where people are standing with a phone already in their hand.
The QR block gives you two things: a wa.me link for anywhere
digital, and a downloadable QR image for anywhere physical. Both open a chat with your
number.
It is the cheapest customer acquisition in the product and the most commonly wasted, because people print a bare code with no explanation. A QR code by itself gets scanned rarely; a QR code captioned with what happens when you scan it gets scanned a lot.
Before you start
- A connected WhatsApp channel, routed to whatever should answer.
Steps
Open the QR block on the WhatsApp channel
It shows your wa.me link and a Download QR button, both pointing at the number this channel is connected as.
Check the number in the link is the one you mean before distributing anything. A QR code printed on a thousand invoices is expensive to correct.

Check the routing before you distribute anything
Everyone who scans this starts a conversation on this channel, answered by whatever the channel is pointed at. Read the bot's first message once more with a stranger in mind — it is the first thing every one of these people will see.
Copy the link for digital placements
Email signatures, your website, your Google Business profile, ad destinations. A tap opens a chat.
Download the QR for physical ones
Reception desks, table tents, invoices, packaging, vehicle livery, the back of a business card, a shop window.
Caption it with what happens next
"Scan to message us about your order" beats an unlabelled square by a wide margin. Tell people what they get.
Scan it yourself before printing a thousand
Confirm it opens a chat with the right number, and that whatever you routed the channel to actually replies.
Scan the printed version rather than the file. Some paper stocks and print sizes produce codes that phones struggle with, and you will not discover that from a screen.
Check it worked
Scan the printed version, not just the file — some printers and materials render codes that phones struggle with. Then send a message and confirm it lands.
The parts people get wrong
- A scan opens a chat but sends nothing until the person types. Your bot's opening line is what they see, so it needs to make sense with no context at all.
- Physical QR codes outlive campaigns. Do not point one at a channel you might disconnect.
