Advanced process settings are on Pro, Growth and Scaler, and they exist for teams whose process has diverged from the defaults.
The advice that matters more than any individual setting: the defaults are opinionated on purpose. Most teams who change everything in their first week end up changing it back, having spent a month debugging behaviour they introduced themselves. Change something when you have felt the friction, not in anticipation of it.

Steps
Confirm your plan includes it
Pro, Growth and Scaler. Not Starter.
If the setting you are looking for is absent and you are on Starter, that is why — and the fix is a plan change rather than more searching.
Change the defaults only when they are demonstrably wrong
"We tried it and it does not fit how we work" is a reason. "It might not fit" is not.
Change one thing and watch it for a week
Process settings affect how work arrives for everybody, which makes multiple simultaneous changes impossible to attribute.
Write down why, somewhere outside the product
The successor who inherits a heavily customised workspace with no explanation will assume it was an accident and change it back.
Tell the team what changed
These settings change how work appears to other people. Changing them silently produces a week of confused questions.
Review after a quarter
Settings changed to work around a problem that has since been fixed elsewhere are pure drag on everybody who joins afterwards.
Check it worked
A week after any change, ask two people whether they noticed. If nobody did, the change was unnecessary. If somebody found it confusing, it needed announcing.
The parts people get wrong
- These sit with admins because they change the product for the whole team, not just for the person changing them.
