I have hit a plan limit

Which limit you have hit, what it stops working, how to tell from the symptom alone, and the fixes that cost nothing before you consider upgrading.

Different limits fail in different ways, and the failure is rarely well-signposted from the symptom. A bot that has stopped sending, a campaign that has stalled and a workflow that is not firing all look like faults until you check the meters.

Start on Home. The capacity bars tell you which limit you are against in about five seconds.

Four meters against their allowances. The full bar is your answer.

Find out which limit

The capacity bars on Home cover AI voice minutes, AI messages, carrier minutes and automation runs. The cards above cover seats and channels.

Out of AI messages

Your bot stops sending; your team is unaffected, because messages people type are not metered. Narrow which channels are pointed at a bot, or upgrade.

Out of AI voice minutes

Your AI agent stops taking calls. Consider putting the agent only on the after-hours branch, where its value per minute is highest and the alternative is nobody at all.

Out of calling balance

This is money rather than an allowance, and it stops calls outright. Top it up — nothing else fixes it.

Out of automation actions

Counted per step. Trim steps nobody acts on — a notify step nobody reads is pure cost — and narrow workflows with "only if". Both are free.

Out of user seats

Deactivate people who have left. Reassign their work first, and check whether they own any workflows or are the WhatsApp channel message user.

Out of channels

Disconnect channels you connected to try and never used. All thirteen types are on every plan; only the count is capped.

Out of storage

Clear superseded knowledge base documents first — that improves accuracy as well as space. Then look at recordings, which are usually the largest item.

Put it to use

Whatever you free up, note how long it buys you at your current rate. If the answer is under a month, you are managing a symptom and should be looking at the plan instead.

Worth knowing

The parts people get wrong

  • The meters exist so you find out before a limit stops you. Checking them monthly is a two-minute habit that prevents a bad Tuesday.
  • Before moving up a tier, check whether switching to yearly billing buys enough headroom — it takes two months off the annual cost.
