How campaign outcomes move lead stages
A campaign uses the same outcome table a person does, which is why campaign results and pipeline reports agree without reconciliation.
There is no separate campaign vocabulary. When an AI agent finishes a call it logs one of the same eight outcomes an agent would, and those outcomes have exactly the same effects.
That single decision is why campaign reporting and pipeline reporting never need reconciling — and it is also what makes a campaign self-cleaning, because terminal outcomes remove people from the audience automatically.

Steps
Know that campaigns use the same eight outcomes
Reached — spoke, no answer, busy, voicemail, callback requested, wrong number, not interested, do not call.
Expect terminal outcomes to remove people
Wrong number, Not interested and DND move the lead stage and take the contact out of the calling list — including out of a dynamic campaign audience filtered on open stages.
This is the mechanism that keeps a running campaign from re-calling somebody who has already refused.
Expect attempt outcomes to leave them in
No answer, busy and voicemail log the call and leave the stage alone, so the follow-up sequence can try again.
Watch a stage change land on the feed
Stage changes are audit-log entries. You can always see that a campaign, rather than a person, moved somebody — and when.
Treat DND from a campaign as final
It carries legal weight. Never build an import or a workflow that quietly puts these contacts back into a list.
Report on stages rather than campaign counters
Because the outcomes are shared, your normal pipeline reporting already includes everything the campaign did.
Check it worked
Filter Contacts by DND and check every one of them arrived there for a good reason. That list is the one with real consequences attached, and it is worth auditing after any large campaign.
The parts people get wrong
- This is the strongest argument for building campaign audiences on open stages: terminal outcomes then remove people automatically, with no suppression list to maintain.
- A contact called by a campaign and then by a person shows both attempts on one feed, with the same outcome vocabulary.
